N.E.I. Electrical & EMF Inspections

LICENSED ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR # 7015247

OUR SERVICES

We identify areas of your home or business that may be exposed to electromagnetic interference.

Specifically, we are trained to detect and rectify wiring errors in your house or business. Wiring errors are one of the main contributors to EMR (electromagnetic radiation).

Wiring errors from the initial construction phase combined with the eventual breakdown in a building’s wiring system is the leading source of elevated magnetic fields. Most of these wiring errors are electrical code violations and should be repaired by one of our electricians as quickly as possible.

After we measure the radio frequency (RF) fields, magnetic fields, and electric fields around your home or business, we provide a detailed report plus advice and recommendations on how to maintain an EMF-safe environment for the long term.

We perform energy saving audits and work closely with the Ontario Power Authority on lighting retrofits utilizing government rebates for our clients. We take care of all the details and paperwork. The rebate check goes straight to our customer.

At N.E.I. we have combined over 50 years of experience from our senior staff members. We have gained our experiences from contracts with; Pearson Toronto Airport, Ontario Place, GO Transit, South Wire, Humber River Hospitals, The City of Vaughan, Digi Canada, Netversity, LCBO,  ULMA Construction and many more.

Our electricians are able to complete large and small projects in an efficient and professional manner satisfying our customer’s schedule and requirements.

For homes requiring more power, we enhance your electrical infrastructure to support up to 200 Amps.

No matter what the situation, we can add additional circuits thru out your home or commercial unit with minimal to no disruption to the existing walls and ceilings.

We are extremely proficient in the design and installation of pot lights within your home or business.

supplying and installing plus trouble shooting all of the electrical power components necessary to operate your voice & data system, we also supply and install telephone, Ethernet cctv cables, cameras and alarm systems.

We have extensive experience in installing the main power wire feed, outdoor GFCI electrical panel & all the final connections required for hot tubs & Jacuzzis.

We coordinate and provide permits and inspections from the Electrical Safety Authority. We also include a detailed inspection report plus all necessary recommendations. Our goal is to prevent future electrical issues.

Now that Electric Vehicles are becoming more common, we have been installing EV charging stations in our client’s homes and place of business.

Installing accent landscape lights creates a beautiful and inviting look to any home and garden. We also install timers and patio puck lights.

Back in the 70’s many homes and businesses had aluminum wires installed because aluminum wiring is less than half the price of copper. We now know that Aluminum wiring tends to oxidize, expand and contract which creates arching or sparks that can lead to fires.

AC Magnetic Fields: Living spaces contain dozens of electronic devices and electrical appliances. When this equipment is active or turned on, a flow of electrical current begins. This flow of electricity through the equipment and wiring is responsible for creating AC Magnetic Fields. The intensity or strength of the magnetic field is directly related to the power consumption of the device. A more powerful device will produce a higher magnetic field. These fields usually remain close to their source (2 to 3 feet) but can travel several hundred feet; an example is in the case of high voltage power lines.

AC Magnetic Fields are present when there is electrical current running through a wire, metal, an appliance or the ground. Common sources include power lines, transformers, AC units, home appliances, home wiring, wiring errors (i.e. Neutral to Neutral, Neutral to Ground), electrical current running on metal water pipes, gas pipes or the home’s grounding system.

AC Electric Fields created by a voltage within 60 Hz. (E-Fields) are produced by the presence of electricity. Their strength is determined by voltage; the higher the voltage, the stronger the field. AC Electric Fields are generated by live electrical wires and generally travel 6 to 8 feet from the source, but in some cases further. An electric field will exist even when a device is not in use (turned off). In other words, these sources produce a continuous emission. AC Electric Fields have a natural attraction to ground and the human body. They are considered low frequency electromagnetic radiation. AC Electric or Dirty Electricity are caused by: faulty wiring, appliances, smart TV’s, computers, routers, printers, chargers, dimmers, unshielded electrical wiring, plastic AC electrical cords, knob and tube wiring and other electrical devices.

Harmonics (commonly referred to as “dirty electricity”): These are frequencies other than the standard 60 Hz cycle generated by dimmer switches, fluorescent lighting, CFL bulbs, solar inverters, variable speed motors, new electronic systems with switch mode power supplies (SMPS), and many other sources. These higher-frequency electrical fields conduct along the home’s or commercial units wiring system and radiate into the living environment, causing a great deal of electromagnetic interference (EMI) in the home or place of business.

Radiofrequency “RF” Wave technology plays an integral part in our daily lives. As AC Electric fields and AC Magnetic fields approach higher frequencies, the fields become airborne and, in this condition, become Radio Waves. Microwaves are simply higher frequency radio waves. RF waves are used to convey information from one place to another through the air. They are used in mobile communication, radio and television broadcasts, radar, satellite navigation and are a significant part of what we recognize today as an international communication infrastructure. These high energy, airborne waves are capable of traveling many miles. RF waves are considered high frequency electromagnetic radiation (10 MHz -300 GHz). RF radiation is also emitted from Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens, baby monitors, wireless enabled devices, gaming consoles, cell towers, Bluetooth devices, smart gadgets, cordless phones, cell phones, smart meters and alarm systems.

After we measure the radio frequency (RF) fields, magnetic fields, and electric fields around your home or business, we provide a detailed report plus advice and recommendations on how to maintain an EMF-safe environment for the long term.

What Our Customers Say

Michael from Vaughan Posted: April 22, 2023 (EMF Inspection and mitigation). We purchased a home where the basement had been recently renovated by the previous owner. Unfortunately, they didn't use proper electrical standards when doing all the ceiling wiring and this resulted in high levels of EMF in certain areas of our main floor. After asking multiple licensed electricians to review and fix the situation, no one knew how to resolve the EMF issues since it's not something they dealt with. We were starting to get a bit hopeless, but then by chance, we found John online and he was exactly who we needed. He reviewed and troubleshooted the situation right away and came up with a recommended solution to rewire the problematic circuits in the basement ceiling. He came back and implemented this solution himself with very neat and minimal ceiling cutting, which we were able to have a reno guy patch up very easily. He was respectful and professional the whole time. There's really a huge gap in knowledge about this issue in the electrician community and we're thankful to have found John to resolve our problem. Would definitely recommend him to anyone who even suspects they have any EMF issues. - Michael from Vaughan
Sandra from Milton Posted: Mar 14, 2023. (Pot Light Installation in Kitchen) John was quick to respond to my inquiry, answered all my questions and was able to schedule the work in my timeline. Carlo showed up this morning right on time, despite the bad weather. He was very friendly and completed the job so professionally and quickly! I am so happy that we chose N.E.I. Electrical. Thanks so much John, Carlo and helper Frank! It was a pleasure working with you! )
Yasser from Oakville Posted: Feb 18, 2023. (Control Panel Wiring and Installation). Great company, professional and reliable. Their crew comes on time. They have all the tools and common material to get the job done right.
Patty from Toronto Posted: Feb 10, 2023. I cannot say enough great things about John and his crew... they're knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Ours is an older house with very finicky wiring that needed some practical solutions and John was able to come up with results while co-coordinating with our renovating contractors. He's prompt with his replies to our countless questions and is an endless resource for information. I would highly recommend N.E.I. Electrical for your electrical and wiring needs and we look forward to working with John again in the near future.
Elaine from Concord Posted: Jan 2, 2023. (Business Electrical Repairs & New Electrical Installations). We have used John Agapinos and his amazing team at N.E.I. Electrical at our business office and warehouse for the past several years and they have been prompt, highly professional and friendly, and always skilled each and every time we have called on them! We have called on them for everything from changing light bulbs in our warehouse, repairs on our electrical systems and major installation of new electrical lines in our warehouse for our production department. These are highly experienced and professional people whom I have even used for my own residential electrical needs!
Ray from Port Perry Posted: Dec 15, 2022. (Trace & Identify Electrical, Add Outlets and Overhead Lighting). I've got an older home ('73) with a poorly labeled fuse box, plaster walls and retrofitted duct work. The guys from N.E.I. Electrical came in and worked quickly and efficiently to not only trace out and identify older electrical wiring, they also added overhead lighting in all of my upstairs bedrooms, outlet behind my TV and corrected some wiring issues in areas previously identified by the home inspector. These guys were great - I knew there would be some wall cutting required for the work I was asking them to complete but they were so careful about the sizes of the holes made, and were especially careful to cut out pieces of the plaster that would be easily popped back into place and patched. N.E.I. Electrical are truly the pros.
Lisa from Woodbridge Posted: Nov 14, 2022. (Potlights Throughout the House). Put Up Light Fixtures, Installed a Surge Panel N.E.I. Electrical has provided services at my new renovated home including potlights throughout the house and in my new kitchen before it was even put in. Light fixtures, and installing a surge panel in my basement. The electrician was John, quality of his work was absolutely outstanding. He's very professional and knowledgeable about his work. The price was also very reasonable. He was a pleasure to work with and I was very impressed with all the services he provided! I would recommend John in a heart beat! Thanks again for everything!!
John from Toronto Posted: Oct 3, 2022. (Installation and Wiring of Custom Components in Enclosure). John at N.E.I. Electrical does excellent work. Asked all the right questions, did a fine job of putting together and configuration our custom roadside camera equipment in a weatherproof cabinet. Wired and configured both power and signal components along with testing for the 407 ETR project. I'd highly recommend N.E.I. Electrical.
Aldo from Brampton Posted: Sep 7, 2022. (Provided 30 Amp Plug for Daughter's New Business). Impressed with how quickly the electrician responded when we had some problems with the plug. I would use this company again and would refer to my friends. They were reasonable and stood behind their work.
John from Toronto Posted: Aug 27, 2022. (Dimmer Switch Replacement). John from N.E.I. Electrical came on time, was very courteous and professional. He completed the job of replacing a dimmer switch in my bathroom very promptly. I understand he is good at many handy man jobs so I will contact him again for sure as well as recommend him to other condo residents.
Paul from Mount Albert Posted: June 19, 2022. (Electrical Work). Dealing with N.E.I. Electrical was a pleasure. The contractor was courteous and went the extra effort to minimize any extra work on my part after completing the electrical work that Awas completed (drywall repair). I was also impressed with the communication from John Agapinos who oversaw the project and who was always willing to help answer any questions and ensure the job was completed to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend N.E.I. Electrical to anyone looking for a dependable electrician in the GTA. Paul.
Judi from Etobicoke Posted: April 26, 2022. (Ceiling Fans Installation). N.E.I. Electrical responded to my request to assemble and install 3 ceiling fans. John Agapinos discussed my request and did an excellent job of hearing what I did want and did not want to happen. I was interested in quality workmanship. He quoted a flat rate per fan which I found appealing. I was extremely satisfied with the work. He was courteous, mindful of furnishings and meticulous in assembling and installing the fans. When finished, he took time to run me through how to operate the controls and what to be mindful of with these models. He cleaned up and even took the packaging materials with him. N.E.I. Electrical have a high level of communication and professionalism. I would rehire them for any electrical work and will recommend them to others. Judi
Michael from Toronto Posted: Feb 28, 2022. (Electrical Panel and Outlets). I had these guys replace my residential panel and run 3 new outlets (including 10/3 dryer) via external conduit. I went with these guys for a residential install because the house is 100 yrs old (panel was 20-30 yrs old at least and wired over breaker-capacity). So it was due for a good solid replacement. Job was perfect, even though I suggested they take an easier (though not as attractive) route with the wiring, they made the effort and ran it the harder way. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quality install.
Dez from Toronto Posted: Nov 6, 2021. I am writing to tell you about my experience with N.E.I. Electrical, particularly regarding John Agapinos. From the moment he answered the phone in a courteous and inviting manner to the instant when he stepped into my home and proceeded to instruct staff on what to repair and install, I was not only pleased but amazed at his level of professionalism, resourcefulness, helpfulness, and amicability. Mr. Agapinos was a sheer delight to work with and no matter how many questions or late phone calls my husband and I burdened him with, he was always patient, direct, helpful, and went above and beyond in the service arena. I wish to also mention that this is not my first renovation project. About four years ago, we did a complete makeover to one of our floors and the job, needless to say, took much longer than anticipated and was a bigger headache than we ever could have imagined. And just last week, we had the misfortune of dealing with a ruthless contractor who tried ceaselessly to rip us off and ultimately walked off the job leaving us in a state of complete disarray and in a dreadful bind. I fully intend to refer John Agapinos and N.E.I. Electrical to friends/family who are seeking your services. I would be happy to send folks in your direction. I'm certain they will be just as satisfied with his efficient and affable manner as am I. John Agapinos is, as I'm sure you know, an invaluable member of N.E.I. Electrical and I will use your company without reservation again in future. Employees like Mr. Agapinos need to be recognized since it is because of people like him that customers continue coming back and referrals are made. He has made all the difference and I feel truly fortunate to have had such positive dealings with him. Thank you!
Sangeeta from Oakville Posted: Oct 20, 2021. (Electrical Work). I hired them to do some electrical work and was very impressed with the quality of workmanship as well as their courteous and friendly service. I would highly recommend them and use them again without any hesitation.
Janet from Toronto Posted: Sep 26, 2021. (Electrical Work). I cannot say enough good things about this company and its employees. They have been everything one could hope for when hiring an electrical contractor: knowledgeable, thorough, polite and respectful of our limited means. Above all, they are competent - none of the shoddy work we see on TV these days (and which, unfortunately, was previously done in the house we bought). In particular, the electrician who has been doing the work (John) is someone who knows a lot about everything, explains what he is doing and why, has great suggestions about many things - electrical and otherwise - that could be done to improve the house at little additional cost, and is an amazing source of other excellent trades people also. I would not hesitate to recommend N.E.I. Electrical to anyone.
